Notes

ca. 1930-1950 hunter calibre bimetallic screw balance Breguet hairspring stud carrier mobile in two axes (Fig.3) The ebauche Cyma 234 was besides the Movado-typical bridge shapes modified to a wide extent: Bimetallic balance with Breguet hairspring was any but common in the production periode, but optionally also available for the contemporary Movado 75. The stud carrier (Fig.3) is strange. if not even unique. Dial holders accessible from the back side were common for Movado, and for the Cyma 234 even optionally available, but here they are rather elaborated (Fig.4): Two lock bars B are pressed to the dial feet by cam discs B. Arrows C indicate where to move the markers D on the disc heads, to unlock the dial. The dial is reliably mounted without applying high forces which may lead to dings or cracks on enamel dials. Last not least: The original size of 12" was reduced to 11.5" . As visible in Fig.1 and 4 (on top right), this made the teeth of the barrel to stick out of the movement, and an according recess must be provided in the case. Moreover the nearly equally sized Movado 75 was available between 1926 and 1960, and so the reasons for all this efforts are hard to understand.
